In response to the recent KUOW report describing how the Seattle school district kept two teachers in the classroom, despite misconduct findings and allegations, Principal Oatis sent out a letter to Meany Middle School families. Read the letter from Ms. Oatis here.
This week, Seattle Public Schools sent the following email to families, inviting everyone to attend a Listen and Learn Event on February 13th:
Dear Washington Middle School and Meany Middle School Families,
KUOW’s reports on educator misconduct drew concern and frustration from many, including Washington and Meany Middle School families. We would like to invite you to share your concerns with us in person.
On Thursday, February 13 School Board President DeWolf and Director Hersey will host a community Listen and Learn Event. Superintendent Juneau and Dr. Codd, Chief of Human Resources, will join them. Event participants will have the opportunity to share concerns and questions about the recent reports and the district’s response.
